First DO NOT change SATA hard disk mode settings in BIOS, leave it to the default settings which were used while installing Windows. 2. I then downloaded the matrix storage driver from the correct HP driver page, tried slipstream, tries just installing it on a usb floppy drive. NEVER MESS WITH COMPUTER GEEKS. That's it. Thing work fine after I disable SATA Native Mode on my hp dv2000 and nc6400. able to use Trim. In Boot Set up no option to select IDE only AHCI, ATA and Legacy.

For intel chipsets there should be "AHCI" mentioned with the chipset name of the controller e.g., "Intel 5 Series Chipset SATA\AHCI controller ... " For Intel chipsets, Intel "Rapid Storage Technology" Now, all those who "Turned Off" the SATA option, goahead and Turn that option back to "ON" and than tell me what happens to your Laptop / Desktop through this forum.

I've checked the registry and the Start properties of msahci and iaStorV are still 0. weblink Even with trim, the ssd will have to work harder managing a very small pool of available space. And no toolkit, means no manual trim program, right? Don't mess with regedit you only need to boot in safe mode to fix this, very simple.

Or just benchmark slOwer?2) in doing some research it appears the problem may be that HP just locks down the bios options and some have found some bios hacks to turn
No AHCI mode in bios on new HP laptop? Still did not find HDD, but pressed Enter and viola, loaded a pile of RAID drivers, found the HD and found the previous Windows XP.
